About Us

Becoming guardians of our club’s future, what does that mean for us, the people, the town?

Our Trust

  • The purpose of the Trust is to create a completely new revenue stream 100% dedicated to supporting Dundalk Football Club and it’s activities.
  • The essential element of the Trust is that, while funds can only be spent on football club affairs , the Trust itself remains 100% independent of all owners at all times.
  • It is a resource for the club’ whose strength lies in an independence that is vested in the fans and in the townspeople – IN OUR COMMUNITY
  • In this draft example each member of the trust, Executive, Full and Associate is a full voting member of the Trust
  • The concept is that the townspeople choose to support the Trust to the degree that they can afford, which may alter from time to time based on personal circumstances, but all of us get to know that we, our families, our town and generations to come are playing an equal role in ensuring Dundalk Football Club continues to exist, to develop and to flourish
  • Our contributions secure the future of the club that we support including the Academy which will be a permanent outlet for our children and grandchildren

it’s 15 years since the cup and leag
0:48

0:51
with two goals right at the start and at
0:53
the end of a hardfought game L do now
0:55
take the cup to the border to share a
0:57
pride of place in their trophy room with
0:59
a lead title but un do manager Jim mlon
1:02
today’s win another chapter in his
1:05
successful tenure with the club and for
1:07
unlucky Waterford again failure to
1:09
capudo that has now left them without a
1:11
success in the tournament for 42
1:14
years Sligo had to come at us and they
1:17
were coming at us hard and uh I think it
1:21
was Patty Don headed a ball he kind of
1:23
headed it down H in at the edge of the
1:26
Box our own box and sha bne hit it long
1:30
and uh I was standing at the halfway
1:32
line with the center half and it went
1:35
over our heads and uh I turned and went
1:38
and you know I had the pace to to beat
1:41
the the center halfway you have to make
1:43
sure you put it in and just as I came to
1:45
the edge of the Box the ball bobbled
1:51
[Applause]
1:53
up managed to clip it over him and as I
1:56
did so uh I I ran into the keeper and uh
2:01
but I just saw it Nestle in the net so I
2:03
was was more than happy to to see that
2:05
and it was one of the I suppose one of
2:07
the highlights when you consider that
2:10
you know for
2:12
me um I had had a situation where I had
2:15
the nightmare where I was told i’ never
2:17
play again so for me all all of the
2:19
games um that I played in um were just a
2:23
bonus

The decision to form the Trust as a limited company was taken at a meeting of concerned fans on Saturday 5th October 2024

The Board of the Dundalk FC Supporters Trust was constituted on the Monday the 2nd of December 2024 following on from extensive work by a number of supporters who came together to discuss the concept following the potential death of Dundalk FC as it faced bankruptcy in Autumn 2024.

To date the Trust has over 200 members, and has substantial funds available to it given the uptake in membership following the hugely successful launch of the Trust.

The elected Board have been mandated to oversee the day-to-day running of the Trust, and seek to implement the views of our members in our work.

Steps to Trust

The name Dundalk FC Supporters Trust CLG was chosen

The decision was unanimous by those who attended

The initial draft of the Trust proposal was first given to ‘The 1903 — Dundalk FC Supporters Club’ by Brendan Ogle and Tony O’Kane on 25th September 2024, which was well received

The 1903, subsequently met with new Dundalk FC Owner John Temple. The 1903 then informed us that he did not want any new supporter led fund raising initiatives to commence until Christmas

Those who met on the 5th October believed that due to the dire situation at Dundalk FC, there was no time to wait in forming the Trust

The Trust is now incorporated as Dundalk FC Supporters Trust CLG, Company number 773621

The 1903 were advised that this meeting was taking placeWe would like the 1903 to support this essential perpetual Trust initiative

Make a Change

‘We’ Da Town

Why a perpetual Trust was proposed for the survival of Dundalk Football Club

The previous Trust effort was not incorporated & simply disappeared. This is a perpetual Trust to help with all future issueOnly a legal body, properly constituted and professionally run, can contract and deliver what is required while reporting and accounting for all monies received in the manner proposedIt is envisaged that the Trust will ultimately be involved in big projects and large expenditure requiring professional legal and financial expertise
